IPOH: About RM416mil from the announced RM1.6bil during the tabling of the 2020 Budget would be used to build new hospitals. Without going into details, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said 20 new clinics and one new hospital is being planned. "A 50-bedded hospital could cost about RM80mil while a 100-bedded hospital could cost between RM120mil and RM130mil," he added. He said the remaining allocation included RM1.17bil for hospital equipment and RM95mil for the renovation and upgrading of health facilities. State Health Committee chairman A. Sivanesan said details on the hospital would be built near Kampar New Town and are still being worked out.
