The former petroleum minister alleged that Nisar was working on a “hidden agenda” against Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and trying to damage him through media statements. Dr Asim said that he is a living example of Nisar Ali Khan’s ‘banana republic’, which he now condemns while no more being a minister. Nisar is trying to stay relevant by giving lectures on ‘banana republic’,” he said. On Zardari’s meeting with Dr Tahirul Qadri in Lahore, he said that politics has strange bedfellows and PPP co-chairman had done nothing wrong. Asim said that he will be back in Pakistan once his treatment is done and will fulfil any responsibility given to him by the party leadership.
