Dozens arrests made on one-year anniversary of major clash in social unrest


Riot police cordoned off the area outside the Langham Place shopping mall in Mong Kok. Hundreds of protesters gathered on the streets as they sang the anthem of the protest movement – Glory to Hong Kong – and chanted slogans such as “Five Demands, not One Less”. In Yuen Long, dozens of protesters gathered at Yuen Long MTR station. Among those was Yuen Long district council chairman Zachary Wong Wai-yin. On June 12 last year, thousands of demonstrators gathered outside the Legislative Council in Admiralty demanding the withdrawal of the extradition bill.
