Down in Jungleland: Fear and loathing

In the end, you felt most sorry for that magnificent fish as it met its dreadful end by electrocution. The great mechanical beast leapt out alongside the boat, mouth agape as tourists got their cheap thrills and screamed their lungs out. Their diet varies too, from plankton, crustaceans, sea birds and small fish to seals, squid and sea lions. Most species live in sea water though some (like the bull shark and the endangered Ganges river shark) can tolerate both sea and fresh water. Look at the shark: its eyes and face are expressionless and unchanging — which is perhaps one of the reasons that makes you fear it, especially if it’s swimming towards you.
