Stocks jumped on Thursday on hopes the winner of the U.S. presidential election would soon be determined, CNBC reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 613 points higher, or 2.2 percent. The S&P 500 climbed by 2.4 percent and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.6 percent. Those gains put the major averages on pace for their biggest weekly gains since April. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were up by 7.1 percent and 8.2 percent, respectively, over that time period.
