Story highlights Doug Jones says he's ready to move forward from the special electionRoy Moore is refusing to concede the election until the votes are certifiedWashington (CNN) The winner of the Alabama special election, Senator-elect Doug Jones, says he's ready to move forward despite Roy Moore's refusal to concede the race. Jones, a Democrat, told CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning that he's "ready to go regardless of whether (Moore) concedes or not." "It was a close election, there is no question about that. The senator-elect also said he doesn't agree with some in his party who say President Donald Trump should resign from office over the sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations against him, which Trump has denied. "(T)hose allegations were made before the election, and so people had an opportunity to judge before that election," Jones said.
