The 17-1 chance Dornoch with jockey Luis Saez astride for trainer Danny Gargan, captured the third jewel of the American Triple Crown, the 156th running of the Belmont Stakes over 10 furlongs on Saturday, the first ever staging of the event at the historic Saratoga Race Course in New York. Dornoch who gave Saez his second Belmont stakes victory and the first for trainer Gargan, held off a late challenge from the favourite Sierra Leone and mind frame down the final stretch.
