DoorDash spokeswoman Jenn Rosenberg told the WSJ that the food ordering platform has been testing sending an alert to customers for a few months. The company refers to its delivery drivers as dashers. In addition, it says that "orders that take longer to be accepted by Dashers tend to result in a slower delivery." She also stated that delivery drivers are able to see what tips customers leave, and orders that don’t include a tip are more likely to be seen as less desirable.
