Don't read over what you've written too carefully. I'm not saying don't write the big coronavirus novel, but tens of thousands of people will be doing the same, so you will need a very strong hook. Don't write to the point that you burn out. If you don't read much (and/or listen to books/ read with braille), most definitely start there. As you start out to write, start also to read like a writer.
