Don't want to pay quarantine charges? Then no hotels but public training institutes for returnees instead

PUTRAJAYA: Individuals returning to Malaysia who refuse to sign a letter of undertaking to pay quarantine charges will be sent to public training institutes instead of hotels for their 14-day mandatory quarantine. Ismail Sabri pointed out that quarantine charges at hotels or at public training institutes are of the same amount. For foreigners of certain categories allowed to enter Malaysia during the recovery movement control order (MCO), they are to pay the full cost of quarantine. The Immigration Department had warned that it would revoke the long-term visit pass of any foreigners who refused to pay the cost of quarantine. "For those who have completed their studies, only students who have sponsorship need not pay for quarantine cost, as it will be borne by their sponsors," he said.
