Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi said he resolved to form the party following 2007-08 post-election violence. "The only way to reduce tax and ease the burden on citizens is to end corruption and stop increasing national debt," Mudavadi said. Mudavadi cautioned residents against being divided on ethnic or social class lines as it was likely to cause violence.
