Two MPs from Turkana have lashed out at Red Cross following its appeal for Sh800 million to help mitigate the effects of drought. Lokiru said Red Cross should fully account for the Sh1 billion collected in 2018 to respond to the drought. Red Cross secretary general Abbas Gullet appeared before a parliamentary committee on Tuesday and was told his account of how the funds were used was too generalised. "If anyone is serious and wants to help Turkana people he/she should not solicit money from Kenyans. Let them come through the Turkana county and the national government."
