School and college students form a significant component of the donors. The fever outbreak saw the donor network being mobilised to help patients. Kerala Blood Donors Society vice president K.P. Rajagopal said school and college students were mobilised through NSS programme officers. Similarly, those on the organisation’s donor list were informed of place and quantity of requirement through WhatApp messages so that they could get in touch with patients directly.
