The two corneas donated by a Karachi-based lady after her death on Friday were successfully transplanted into two blind patients at Pakistan Eye Bank Society (PEBS). PEBS received a call from the family of a deceased lady, who pledged for eye donation after death as vital will. The PEB team led by Dr Raheel Rahman, retrieved two corneas from the deceased lady within two hours after her death. There are more than 250,000 corneal blind patients in Pakistan. PEBS along with other organization is working hard for the development of modern eye banking network in Pakistan under the guidance of international leading eye bank experts.
