To the editor: I laughed out loud reading TV comedy writer Gary Jacobs’ humorous vision of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s semi-gracious concession speech. (“Donald J. Trump's concession speech, imagined,” Opinion, Oct. 31)But then reality set in: Trump won’t have time to prepare and deliver a worthy speech, since he will be preoccupied with legal matters. Then there are the false-accusation claims he plans to press against women who have made allegations of sexual assault. With all this litigation confronting Trump, why not forgo the traditional concession speech? He played well on the media’s selective and twisted reporting of Trump’s statements, and in keeping with the tradition of this paper, he bashed the Republican nominee but made this Republican voter smile.
