Donald Trump appeared to suggest he would veto the $900 billion relief package passed by Congress on Monday unless checks are tripled from $600 to $2,000. During negotiations on the current COVID relief bill, the Senate would not pass a proposal for a $1,200 check for Americans. I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple. In order to avoid a pocket veto, Congress must get the legislation to Trump by December 23. The House easily passed a COVID-19 relief bill Monday as dusk fell over the Capitol in Washington.
