President Donald Trump shared on Twitter that he has told Sarah Sanders “not to bother” with White House press briefings, citing his belief that she’s been covered unfairly in the media. The president’s tweet, published on Tuesday, was in response to growing criticism that the White House has not held a press briefing in over a month — or since the partial government shutdown, which began on Dec. 22. “The reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the ‘podium’ much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press,” Trump wrote. “I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway!” he continued “Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!”
