Trump released a new ad Monday seizing on comments made by Hillary Clinton late last week in which she called some of his supporters a “basket of deplorables” during a fund-raiser. “You could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables,” Mrs. Clinton is shown saying. After word of her comments became public, Mrs. Clinton expressed regret for them on Saturday. “Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that’s never a good idea,” Mrs. Clinton said. “I regret saying ‘half’ — that was wrong,”
