But while mass migration and mass unemployment might make their poll numbers shoot up, we’re not saying that right-wing populists absolutely need them to happen. That’s because Poland’s Law and Justice has explicitly tried to model itself after Hungary’s Fidesz party. Instead, Poland’s nationalist Law and Justice party wants to tax banks and supermarkets, which are mostly foreign-owned, and to have its central bank provide cheap loans to Polish businesses.
