Mr Trump’s support among those groups appeared to rise slightly compared with 2020. Ultimately, Mr Trump’s victory may have had as much to do with the fundamental challenges Ms Harris faced all along. It is quite possible, as Mr Trump has said many times on the campaign trail, that his legal peril actually helped him. That appears largely consistent with the shares for Mr Biden and Mr Trump in 2020. The results will give Mr Trump a significant advantage in pushing his agenda through Congress.
