Only days earlier Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh had lost Senate elections getting only 164 votes despite PTI claiming to possess 180. Claims have been made regarding two dissenting MNAs being kept in custody by agencies without producing any solid proof. But such proofs normally take years to come, and that too when insiders spill the beans. In case the opposition alliance loses the race for the offices of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate despite possessing majority, agencies would have to face a lot of public criticism. No immediate action was taken by the government; Sheikh Rashid wanted the PML-N to lodge a complaint first.
