Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Wednesday appealed to the public not to condemn the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the killings committed by a policeman in Tarlac last Sunday. Jonel Nuezca shot and killed Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank Anthony during an argument in Paniqui, Tarlac. Año urged the people to not condemn the entire PNP for what Nuezca did. A total of 8,735 PNP personnel were infected with the coronavirus and 27 policemen died of the disease. Nuezca has been indicted by the Tarlac Provincial Prosecutor and no bail was recommended.
