To do this, local media need as much access to the dignitary as the home country journalists do. Journalists come from different cultures, and the journalistic culture where they come from inculcates in them certain expectations. From elsewhere, mostly in Africa, such treatment and more is expected and has come to be accepted as part of journalistic culture. Kenyan journalistic culture has tended to be somewhere in between.
