According to Kojo Yankah, the government owes the GFA around US $4-$5 million and therefore its best they pursue that, instead of begging for a small portion of the Coronavirus fund. The Ghana FA and GHALCA put forward a joint petition to government to release a portion of the state’s Coronavirus stimulus package to help clubs to deal with their financial state in this period of inactivity. Kojo Yankah has criticized the move arguing that it’s not necessary. “Why do you worry yourself going to government for money, meanwhile government owes the GFA almost $4-5 million dollars” he said.
