In Don’t Breathe, Alvarez creates an atmosphere. Don’t Breathe works just as well as as a chronicle of a decaying city: Detroit. Don’t Breathe is several horror movies rolled into one: It’s a home invasion thriller, it’s a slasher, it’s a suspense drama.
