Dome construction can 'partially resume'TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A local administrative court on Thursday partially reversed a Taipei City Government work halt order on the beleaguered Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) project as a means of reducing the risk of structural collapse. However, the company stated that the partial construction halt decision could not fully address the "immediate dangers" or "irreversible (structural) damage" to the Dome. It has repeatedly cited safety concerns as an argument for the construction halt to be fully lifted. "This decision confirms the city's actions to uphold construction safety with our numerous discussions with Farglory and the responsibility taken concerning supervision. The Dome has become an iconic city eyesore symbolizing the bitter and ongoing intransience between the municipality and the construction firm on differing public safety standards, with the city ordering a halt in construction last June.
