Dogara lied, over 1,200 ghost workers in Bauchi ― Danmaliki

SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has been accused of lying to Nigerians by making allegations that the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has stolen public funds amounting to a whopping N400 billion through engagement of ghost workers on the payroll of workers in the State Civil Service. Acting Director-General of Governor Mohammed Abubakar’s 2019 Campaign Organisation, Honourable Aminu Mohammed Danmaliki in a press statement issued to Journalists on Monday in Bauchi made the accusation. According to him, the then Bauchi State Government under the leadership of the immediate past Governor, Isa Yuguda had placed an embargo on staff employment since 2013 which is still in force stating that “No fresh appointment is made by the current government of M. A Abubakar till date. The Campaign DG concluded that “By simple arithmetic, in the years of the present administration, the entire salaries stood at N5.2 billion monthly for 42 months making a total of N218, 400, 000, 000.00 billion. Where did the Speaker source the sum of N400 billion alleged to have been paid to workers within the same period?.”It will be recalled that during the cause of campaigns before the botched presidential and National Assembly elections last Saturday, the Speaker had alleged that investigation revealed that the sum of N400 billion has so far been misappropriated by the Governor through the insertion of names of ghost workers on the state monthly payroll.
