Credit: NintendoNintendo recently uploaded a new “universe” trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns but in amongst the footage for the new game, both Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion were shown. In that, instead of showing the original Metroid for the first mission of Samus in the narrative, it instead uses Metroid: Zero Mission (shown above). Following that we get footage of both Metroid Fusion and Super Metroid. The latter two are noteworthy, as both have had Virtual Console releases on the 3DS, with Metroid Fusion being part of the Ambassador Program. After all, why would Nintendo release this new Metroid: Samus Returns trailer going over the backstory of the series featuring these specific portable Metroid games when it was released back in September.
