An elderly man allegedly neglected by his grandson gave conflicting statements about wanting to return home after he was taken to hospital, a court has heard. Bjorn Hegh is on trial in the Palmerston North District Court, accused of neglecting Harold Hegh, his grandfather. There is no dispute over how ill 92-year-old Harold Hegh was when police discovered him in January 2018 at his Ōtaki home. Bjorn Hegh told her the stockings often went unworn because the pair got up at different times, she said. Harold Hegh told her he would groom himself and spend most of his time watching television.
