A 28-year-old doctor --who was practising at the Bijoynagar Upazila Health Complex, only official Quarantine Centre in the district-- was confirmed to contract the deadly virus after her samples were sent to the capital and came back to be positive on Tuesday, said Civil Surgeon Dr Md Ekram Ullah. Another patient, a 35-year-old female, was tested positive for the virus and was a wife of Malaysia returnee, who died on April 7 in Nasirnagar’s Jetha village, added the doctor. According to the civil surgeon, around 454 people are under home quarantine while 20 people are under isolation in a hospital at Bijoynagar. Upon sending samples of 95 people to Dhaka, 11 were tested positive and among which three people succumbed to the disease.
