Bhubaneswar, March 2: A doctor at Khurda district headquarters hospital was allegedly abducted by relatives of a 19-month-old boy who died after the health-care facility referred him to Sishu Bhavan in Cuttack. The boy died on his way to Sishu Bhavan. There is no medical negligence," said Khurdha chief district medical officer (in-charge) Makaranda Beura. Durbadala Mishra, additional district medical officer of Sonepur district headquarters hospital, was allegedly killed in September 2014 by the uncle of an eight-month-old child suspecting medical negligence behind the baby's death. We have been demanding deployment of police personnel at district headquarters and sub-divisional hospitals, which numbers around 80.
