Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said they would meet with Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero on November 27, a day before President Rodrigo Duterte inaugurates the Panglao Airport. Puyat said the DoT has received numerous complaints about the situation in Panglao, particularly on violations on easement and environmental concerns. Last week, 22 tourism establishments in El Nido, Palawan were closed due to violations on several environmental laws and city ordinances. Puyat maintained her stance on shutting down tourism hubs, saying she would only close those who were found violating laws.
