DoE nod sought for RE contracts – The Manila Times


The Department of Energy (DoE) has received several applications for renewable energy contracts in the country that can generate 1,684.74 megawatts (MW). Taking the lion’s share is hydropower service contract applications with a potential capacity of 1,217.30 MW. Among the renewable applications, the project with the highest potential capacity is the 500-MW Bulsa Pumped Storage of Strategic Power Development Corp. in Tarlac. The second biggest RE application in terms of potential capacity is GigaWind2 Inc.’s 400-MW Zambales North Wind Project. The implementing rules and regulations of the RE law outline the awarding of operating contracts to develop renewable projects.
