Chief Executive Carrie Lam seemed to be setting a bad example by allowing people to take group pictures without masks on at Government House after the honor awards. Several government officials, including Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, Education Secretary Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, Environment Secretary Wong Kam-sing and Police Commissioner Chris Tang Ping-keung, were not wearing masks. Government adviser Ho Pak-leung told a radio program that officials should observe anti-epidemic measures, as it could be difficult for the government to convince the public to follow them otherwise. Infectious disease expert Dr. Leung Chi-chiu said transmission is still possible even if officials were just removing their masks for a short time, as there were many attendees at the ceremony. Leung added the government should implement the same or even a stricter standard when it comes to infection control in large-scale events.
