It was also framed as “consultation and understating of common challenges to the region.” It took place in an informal setting in the private residence of Djibouti’s president in Haramous. A picture shared on a social media page of Djibouti’s President shows himself and Somalia’s president, Hassen Sheikh Mohammed, in a skirt dress as in the Islamic traditions. Both Djibouti and Somalia signed a cooperation agreement with Egypt last year. Ethiopia relies on Djibouti for the bulk of its import and export trade.
