The vehicle's owner is alleged to have been driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. The BMW crashed into two other cars before plunging into the Diyawanna Oya near Parliament in the early hours of Saturday. After the car went into the Diyawanna Oya, those inside had got out and fled the scene, allegedly in a three-wheeler. The car's suspected owner was arrested yesterday after surrendering to police.
