Alex Baldock, the chief executive of Dixons Carphone, has warned shareholders that profits will be significantly lower than the City expects this year, as the retailer attempts to get to grips with its troubled mobile phone business. It now expects to make only £210 million headline profit this year. City analysts had been expecting profits of about £296 million. The profit warning is the second since Mr Baldock joined Dixons Carphone as chief executive in April last year. “[The] UK mobile market is changing,” Mr Baldock said.
