In the last year, the district council collected 10,000 tonnes of rubbish from kerbsides and 5100 tonnes of recycling. The annual report shows the district council spent $106 million of ratepayers’ money last year. It also includes the results of the resident’s survey that show just 69 per cent of residents rated the district council’s overall performance as good or very good. Operating 30 community water supplies, supplying clean, safe drinking water to 81 per cent of the district’s population.
