District Collector inspects CMCH


Hariharan in the presence of senior officials on Friday inspected the level of cleanliness, medical preparedness at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and listened to the patients’ grievances. The move followed instruction from the State Government to senior officers to inspect health establishments following rise in dengue cases. At the Coimbatore hospital, there are 23 patients who had tested positive for dengue and another 190 patients with fever. The State Government had ordered the setting up of a separate ward for dengue patients and designated a doctor as nodal officer to deal with dengue cases. The district administration had asked local bodies to strengthen waste collection efforts, officials concerned to carry out regular inspection, provide clean drinking water and create awareness among the public on dengue, a release from the district administration said.
