With District 2 Commissioner Ken Russell stepping down at the end of 2022, the City of Miami Commission voted to hold a special election in February 2023 to fill this vacancy. There will also be elections for District 1 and District 4 at the end of 2023. District 2 extends from Coconut Grove up to midtown Miami, including parts of Brickell and Downtown Miami. 15 candidates have filed for the Miami District 2 special election, and there will NOT be a runoff. If you are anticipating voting by mail in this special election, please be sure to update by the end of January to ensure that you will receive your ballot in time.
