Two friends of 40 years are looking to get into the festive fun by pulling their own sleigh full of presents through Diss Market Place tomorrow while dressed in Santa outfits. Karen Francis and Nikki Potter will make their way through the town in the afternoon, finishing at the Thatcher’s Needle pub in a bid to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. Karen, from Ditchingham, lost her sister-in-law to the disease in 2019, while Nikki, from Wortham, lost a friend earlier this year. The pair will be wearing the charity’s distinctive pink hats in recognition of the Wear a Christmas Hat Day fundraiser taking place on the same day.
