A woman, who lost three family members to cancer, has helped to raise thousands of pounds for a cancer charity. Liz Cole, who became Diss Golf Club’s ladies captain in January 2023, organised a number of events as part of her role in support of the Big C charity, before capping her efforts by doing a charity head shave. “I surpassed that after the first event I did called the Big Cuppa in February, then followed that with a cake sale, charity golf day and a raffle, with lots of businesses and club members donating. “All captains choose to support a charity each year, and I knew that was something I really wanted to make the most of,” she added. “Apparently, it is the most ever raised by a ladies captain, and I’m so glad I could make a difference.
