Major disruption is expected this weekend in the capital as several events and festivals converge on the city's streets. Wellington City Council has urged motorists to steer clear of the central city on Saturday and Newtown streets on Sunday. The first big event - Wellington International Pride Parade - is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 7, from 6pm. Robert Kitchin Motorists are urged to stay away from central Wellington this weekend as a number of events take place around the city. Wellington City Council transport and infrastructure manager Siobhan Procter said this weekend's expected congestion was just the start of several big weekends in the capital.
