“It’s kind of reflex now when people want to talk about Disgraced. It’s just that in the past five years, he’s been asked everything and talked endlessly about it. Disgraced is the all-too-topical story of a dinner party that spirals out of control as the discussion turns to race, religion and politics. “It’s a play many have called prescient, and they still call it prescient five years later,” Akhtar says when asked what it means now.
