Disband Staff Rationalisation Committee, Union urges CM


more-inCHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Government Officials’ Union on Wednesday urged the State government to disband the Staff Rationalisaton Committee announced to identify non-essential posts in government departments. In a statement, R. Shanmugam, State President of the Union, said government employees were already burdened with additional work to execute all the schemes announced by the government. “While the employees are suffering like, the announcement by the government to reduce non-essential staff is disheartening,” he said. As such doctors, nurses, and medical staff, teaching staff, office assistants, transport officials, security personnel who had been appointed on a contract basis were already upset on losing their livelihood. “Hence, the government should withdraw the announcement of forming a committee to look into staff rationalisation,” he said.
