Disabled Kiwis who want to work are falling through the cracks

That's how I ended up on Work and Income's Jobseeker Support benefit. I was told by Work and Income that I do not need to look for work, but I desperately want to be contributing to society. People with disabilities aren’t exactly a minority; disabled Kiwis actually make up a relatively large percentage of our nation. When Work and Income decided I did not need to find work, I immediately started researching organisations that could help me into appropriate employment. Currently, MSD contracts out the responsibility of disabled employment services to external organisations - an approach which has proven to be ineffective.
