Dirty laundry aired with Dunedin landlord ruled 'out of her depth'

Tenants found out after they moved into a Dunedin property they were expected to share the laundry, mailbox, rubbish bins and back lawn with their landlord. When two tenants moved into a Dunedin property, the landlord asked if she could use the washing machine. Supplied Landlord Suzanne Mitchell was found peering through her Dunedin rental property. Mitchell argued the laundry and back lawn were shared facilities, despite not being specifically mentioned in the tenancy agreement. The tribunal found the tenancy included the laundry and back garden, noting the agreement stated the tenant had responsibility for the garden.
