Directing, it turns out, is something a lot of people in Hollywood really want to do. That's because directing is so damned fun, says Jill Soloway, creator of Amazon Studios' award-winning dramedy Transparent and director of the film Afternoon Delight. The problem with directing is too many people don't get the chance, Soloway said, or don't for decades. Magid, too, said she loved the process of directing, though given how she creates her art, she's not sure when that chance might come again. L.A. galleries are doing lots too, like the new-ish UTA Gallery, tied to the eponymous Beverly Hills talent agency located just around the corner.
