Even as a Syrian ceasefire brokered by Washington and Moscow lay in tatters, Obama insisted diplomacy -- not force -- is the only way to end the brutal five-year conflict. The US has traditionally been the second speaker in the General Debate after Brazil. Tuesday’s address was Obama’s eighth and final address to the UN General Assembly as America’s commander-in-chief. After Brazil’s President Michel Temer finished his address, president of the General Assembly Peter Thomson said Obama is delayed and has not yet arrived for his speech to the General Assembly.
