Dino News and Views: A Dinosaur's Odyssey


The ‘duck-billed’ dinosaurs, or hadrosaurs as palaeontologists call them, are some of the most well-known and common dinosaurs from late Cretaceous North America and Asia. We in Alberta are especially rich in hadrosaur species, with dinosaur celebrities like Edmontosaurus, Corythosaurus, Parasaurolophus, and more coming from right here. In the early days of the dinosaurs, the continents were united into the great landmass Pangea. Laurasia was made up of North America and Eurasia, which stayed in relative close contact during much of the time of the dinosaurs. This name reflects how the Mediterranean has, for eons now, seen exchange of not only cultures, languages, and stories, but dinosaurs as well.
